Wall-mount modular storage: Let it all hang out

module kitchen storage

You can never have enough storage space. It's true. And even though my new apartment has more closets and cupboards than my previous pad, I could use some extra stuff-stashing spots. Well, more like a place to proudly display my growing collection of retro-look kitchen appliances and gadgets—they're my new thing. While these throwback items could be stowed behind closed cabinet doors, they're just too cute and colorful (mint green blender, race car red toaster, yellow timer...) to be put away. So, thanks to designer Nils Holger Moormann's Erika storage system, my cool cooking classics (and other kitchen goods) can have a groovy and visible station of their own. As a bonus, my countertops stay clutter free!

Multi-tasking fridge magnet

The accumulation of reminder notes from months ago and shopping lists from March (not to mention the tacky magnets that hold them all in place) can overwhelm your fridge. But Joseph & Joseph, a British duo whose crafty kitchenware has already been featured on the Hardware Aisle , recently introduced a new twist on the standard fridge accessory. Their Magnetic Measuring Spoons , available in 6 vibrant colors, prove that magnets can be both useful and aesthetically pleasing. One side of the dishwasher-safe plastic apparatus is a tablespoon and the other is a teaspoon, each with a 1/2-measure fill line. The spoon's middle ridge acts as a handy finger grip, ensuring you won't accidentally slip a bit too much salt in your sweets. And if you can't live without your to-do lists, these magnetic spoons also serve as memo-holders. At $5 each, they're a bargain that will spruce up your fridge décor!

Medicine cabinets: What lifesavers

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm accident-prone. As a result of my klutzy nature I seem to always be in need of / searching around the house for misplaced first aid supplies. While my run-of-the-mill medicine cabinet is big enough for housing my toothbrush, toothpaste, face wash and so on, I can barely find room in it to fit a box of Band-Aids. And I need that on the ready. So rather than overstuffing said cabinet or taking up precious shelf space in my vanity or kitchen cupboards, I'm thinking my medical miscellany needs a place all their own. A can't-miss spot that screams contents inside will save your life, or make the boo boo better. Well, with the lacquered metal Cross Medicine Cabinet designed by Thomas Ericksson for Cappellini , you can kiss the guesswork out of where your first aid items are goodbye. And with five colors to choose from (red, white, green, blue and orange), this is a fun and funky piece that will work with any decor, whet...
