You've probably heard of aromatherapy, the ancient practice of using various smells to positively affect one's mood, health and emotional well-being. (Works for me. Everytime I walk into Sally's Apizza on Wooster Street in New Haven, and smell those coal-fired fresh-tomato pies, I get hungry and happy.)
But have you ever heard of chromotherapy? (Neither had I.) That's the use of colored light to enhance someone's outlook, temperament or frame of mind.
Avant-garde Italian designer, Antonio Lupi, employs chromotherapy in a most creative and unusual way: LED shower doors.
Lupi's Cromobox line of shower enclosures are fitted with tiny, but extremely bright LED lights that radiate through the glass, highlighting the modern mosaic design etched onto the doors.
But the best part is that you can change the light colors to suit--or alter--your mood from cool blue and heart-warming red, to vivid violet and invigorating green.
As of this writing, Cromobox LED shower doors are not yet available in the States, but hopefully they will be soon.
